Abutilon Genus, native to tropical and subtropical areas, that comprises 150 species of shrubs, annual and perennial herbs and more rarely trees with a long-lasting flowering, from spring to autumn. These species feature lobed leaves with long petioles and pendent, funnel-shaped flowers. They grow in full sun, in moderately moist soils and frost-protected sites. Plant in groups and flowerpots. Prune lightly in late winter, to remove thin branches and overmature flowers. Propagated by semi-woody cuttings in summer.
