Genus of more than 50 species, native to tropical areas. Evergreen perennial plants, usually grown as annuals. They feature opposite and usually multicoloured leaves for which they are grown.
They grow in humus-rich, moderately moist, well-drained soils, in full sun or partial shade.
Plant in flowerpots and gardens.
