Astilbe Perennial, rhizomatous herbs with compound, green leaves and rich, upright inflorescences in late spring and summer.They grow in part shade in humus-rich soils and in full sun in swampy soils.Divide rhizome every 3 or 4 years, removing old and woody roots, with a view to improving flowering.Plant in groups and arrangements.Easily propagated by dividing rhizomes, in early spring.
